Davao Philippines Temple & Complex

The Davao Temple is located in the vibrant city on the south side of Mindanao Island. Sagrada Design Studio teamed up with ABI, WV Coscolluela & Associates, and Richardson Design Partnership on the project. Its interior design draws inspiration from traditional Philippine textiles, particularly pina fabric made from pineapple fibers, with art glass and decorative paint featuring floral motifs reminiscent of lace embroidery used in women’s clothing.

The color palette includes vibrant pinks, fuchsias, and deep greens, reflecting the lush local landscape and the cheerful spirit of the people. Carved furniture details were influenced by antique furniture and mirrors found in the Philippines, while the soft palette of the floors and walls allows fabrics and artwork to bring the spaces to life. Soft, curving lines in the light fixtures echo the forms in the art glass, creating a harmonious and inviting environment.

Native flowers such as zinnias and Philippine violets are incorporated into the interior motifs, celebrating the natural beauty of the country and the warmth of its community. The overall design provides a welcoming and uplifting space for members in the Davao area.
